A lot of people want to have a non-traditional wedding these days. A day of celebration without having to adhere to any traditions or expectations that come along with traditional weddings. 

When my sister-in-law told me "It's not a wedding but a Wes Anderson-inspired, vintage-y reception," I couldn't help but be excited as they decided to make their wedding day their own without feeling boxed in by tradition or societal norms. 

The day came, and it was so unique!

Their party had none of the traditional components - no black tuxes or white dresses, no flower bouquets or vows, no walking down the aisle - but a cream colored slip dress with a fascinator, dark olive green suit, and a love story shared by the couple. 

Boys and girls ran around with their boy scout neckerchiefs, red berets, and binoculars. All those little details that were truly unique to them only made it more meaningful.

For me, personally, the marriage of my sister-in-law was such an amazing way to end the year 2022. From meeting the family members that I'd never met before to family trip after their marriage, it truly was one of those moments that will stay with me forever.
