Make the wedding day your own day. You don’t need a veil. You don’t need bridesmaids. You don’t need to have hundreds of guests. You don’t need a fancy venue. You don’t need to cut a cake. You don’t need a dance floor.
And yes, ironically I’m saying this, but you don’t need a wedding photographer either.
Unless, it really matters to you.
There are no rules and your wedding can be whatever you want it to be. Don’t let the tradition keep you in a box. Instead of listening to or reading about everything other people do on their wedding day, think about ‘What I want’. What matters to you is the most important when it comes to wedding.
So, why would you want a wedding photographer? Of course, I cannot answer this for you. For me, the answer was because I want to remember what will eventually fade away. The youth, the excitement, nervousness, love, joy, and tears. The people who were there for us. The celebration. The love and care we received from all our guests. Even the frustration on my husband’s face when I asked to take too many pictures. I wanted to remember it all.
The same value holds when I’m photographing your wedding. I want you to remember it all. I don’t want you to lose this special day.
And as I was documenting Cristal & Esteban’s day, I was so glad I have this job. They will be able to look back at this photos 1, 5, 10 years later and all the moments and feelings will be kept safe in these photos and I am glad I was a part of it.
